Pakistani Prisoners’ Vulnerability to COVID-19

Pakistani prisons are overpopulated by over 30%. Living in such close proximity puts these prisoners at a dangerous risk of contracting coronavirus as well as spreading it among other inmates. More alarmingly, there is a considerable number of sick, elderly and juvenile prisoners in our jails who are the most vulnerable and most likely to contract the virus and even die as a result of it.
